From 1985 to 2012, Manfred Strohscheer was a member of the Executive Board and later the Supervisory Board of Hermes AG, and until 2015 he was also managing partner of several real estate funds. He is currently active in private asset management.

As patron of the Friends of the Deutsche Oper and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, he has supported both houses for many years.

Manfred Strohscheer's foundation supports Alzheimer's research in Germany. For the first time, the Komische Oper Berlin and his foundation want to use the positive effect of classical music for those affected.

Homeless children and young people are particularly close to his heart and he would like to offer them a chance for the future with the planned street children's home.
